On the eve of Valentine’s Day, we invite you to the most romantic concert of the year by Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Italian conductor Luigi Gaggero. It was in Italy that the legend of Verona’s lovers emerged, prompting the English writer William Shakespeare in the 16th century to create the tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”.
Who doesn’t know this fatal but romantic story? For over 400 years, it has been inspiring to express love and find the right words to express passion. Thousands of artists, directors, and choreographers have dedicated their works to this story, and astronomers have even named Uranus satellites after its characters. Today, there are about 20,000 pieces of music written on the Shakespearean play, of which the lion’s share is about the feelings of Romeo and Juliet.
On February 13, before the Valentine’s Day, Kyiv Symphony Orchestra will fall you in love with music about Romeo and Juliet by three authors — Lyatoshynsky, Prokofiev, and Tchaikovsky.
