Mumiy Troll: latest albums
In mid-October 2020, Mumiy Troll released the album “Carnival.Net XX let” in honour of the 20th anniversary of his third studio album “Tochno rtut aloe”. There are no new songs in the new work, and all the recorded compositions are tributes to old hits, sung by Ivan Dorn, Monetochka, Katya Shilonosova, Constellation segment and other young artists.
The tribute album cover itself also carries a meaning. It was created by Andronchik Khachiyan and based on an old stand with torn off posters from 20 different Mumiy Troll albums. The result is a kind of collage, where a portrait of Ilya Lagutenko looks right through the 20-year history from the very same album “Tochno rtut aloe”.
The last studio work of rock performers from Vladivostok "Posle zla" turned out to be quite romantic. It includes 8 tracks. “Posle zla” is not an ominous prediction, but just a line from a song. Interestingly, the songs from the album were written back in 2019, when no one knew about the pandemic yet. But the work came out just at the right time for her, giving its title a broader, deeper and more relevant meaning.
The cover for the album is somewhat surreal as if it was written by Salvador Dali himself. Such a cover was created by the Ukrainian artist from Kyiv Waone.
And if "Posle zlal" was shrouded in announcements, then the work "Prizraki zavtra” (Ghosts Tomorrow) came out two months earlier, quite unexpectedly. Thus, Ilya Lagutenko made a pleasant surprise for his fans. Here were collected those compositions that have become an informal format for the thoughtful and romantic "Posle zla". It is in the work "Prizraki zavtra" that you can find two collaboration works with famous rappers Scryptonite and T-Fest.
